They effectively wanted to cut me off from the "sisters" totally--while they wanted me to meet only the men. Eventually I simply stopped trying, and simply blew off the boasting sessions altogether. That way, they cannot have me approach all the men and kiss their a**es.

I used to give some bros/sis a wee touch on the back on the hand esp if they were going through a difficult time. Nothing with sinister undertones or any kind of flirting, A touch to my mind shows someone you care, particularly if you cant talk to someone at that moment in time. You can imagine my horror when some old geezer took it the wrong way and started touching me back at every opportunity we met. I soon put a stop to that and stopped doing it. What gets me that any attempt to be friendly is misconstrued and your labeled as some sexual deviant.

WASANELDERONCE- Good thread. People used to say I was too happy all the time, I should be more morose and serious. Problem was- Everybody including the elders took too seriously the scripture which said, " better to go to the house of mourning than the house of rejoicing " . I mean- it was ridiculous. I had a sense of humor - so even in pioneer school I would crack jokes in my comments trying to liven things up a bit. Otherwise it would have been like a morgue sitting there all day.
It drove me nuts that many witnesses I knew would go around with dour looks on their faces . I just rolled with my same old same old upbeat self- and didn't let the ba$tards grind me down

yep.....I was counselled for participating in breast cancer awareness week.......my god I only felt a couple of boobs.......but it seems the fat brother took offence
