Either the boy fell, it's a hoax, or something else. The cops looked like they were ready to use their guns if necessary.

Now they are talking about using radar history to track the flight path and see if he fell out somewhere along the way.

Crazy to watch. That balloon was really clipping along at a good speed (25-30 mph).
This family was on the TV show Wife Swap twice. I saw their first episode and the family was presented as a bit lax with safety. They were paired with an uber-safety conscious mother who was just so over-protective of her own kids. It was a weird episode and the family was pretty excitable and I remember lots of yelling rather than talking rationally. (Of course it's played up for tv but still was weird.)
Shame to see this happen to any family.
I hope the boy is OK. Current reports are that they still cannot find the boy.

Father was a storm chaser. They still think the boy was on the balloon. Afraid he may have fallen out. Can't find him around the house or property. There are some reports that something was seen falling from the balloon.
Hope he is all right.
