A lot of them would have done their research and once you know something it's difficult to stomach attending meetings and the like - well it was for me - I felt physically ill for the last few meetings, and I knew in my spirit this wasn't ""the truth"" any longer.

Once you find out that it is a scam or that you keep being mistreated and realize that it will not end, you are never going to fully believe what the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger has to say again. They need people to continue believing what they say, and not looking at it objectively.

Some return...but its also true that when someone leaves the truth it never leaves them. They continue to think of the org and Jah for ever :) an elder said that once in his talk, and yer ive seen that its true, but thats a nice thing.

AE, some return....yes. Some leave because of a bad experience, etc BUT still beleive the org is God's channel...and at some point return. However, in other cases people wake up and realize that the GB is not of God in any way. Can this person come back? Sometimes for family they do. Has one ever woken up and realized the GB was not of God, only to then beleive again it was? I highly doubt it. How do you unknow all the facts about the orgs tainted history belying ints claims?

Some do move on and do mostly forget the whole thing. Me, i grew up in it, gave my whole life. I will never forget. That isn't because any of it is true. Also, it's not because jay hoover exists. He doesn't. Being a jw is not my natural state. Not forgetting the wt experience could be likened to not forgetting a concentration camp experience. I am free now, but the memory remains. How is your time coming?
