mom has no friends and misses association. She needs this before she drives me nuts.
I'm known in the area as 'el apostata'. Going with her on occasions to cause disturbances in the 'force'. I have not been officially d/f'd apparently. We have not been to a meeting in 4 years. I will be dressed in casual clothes and with a go-tee. We'll that's all.

Couldn't she just join the red hat ladies or something? She'd make better friends that way... and if you're going to meetings with her, the dubs will probably avoid her anyway, so she won't find friends at the hall...

Take a book, something other than wt trash. Or get an iTouch and sit in the back and play app games.

a hobby or craft group, a local library book club,
a life-long learning course at a local college or
tech school, literacy tutoring for adults....
geez, anything but the KH **shudder**
help her go to walking events, she will meet new people that way.

Don't you think that your presence in the Hall may spark a JC? Especially since you are dressing to stand out? The elders may want to 'protect their flock'.
I hear they have a phone number you can call to "listen in" to the Sunday meeting. They will be able to know how many people are listening and they count those people in attendence. - maybe you can just go over your moms house and put it on speaker phone. that way you wont have to ASSociate with them.

If you think I am case ... my mom is worse, the WT is all that she had ... she is hard headed and doesn't get along with even her family.

I won't go all the time ... every now and then only. I have a laptop mp3 player books ... i can keep my mind busy :-)
