OTWO yep...that was the same place I went for the DC. Ah the smell of horse manure in the morning! Cleaning that crap hole before the assemblies...oh god. Yuck. Making female bathrooms out of male bathrooms to accommodate all those women and kids??? Controlling how many paper towels people were allowed to use? Covering the mirrors so that the sisters wouldnt be standing there for longer than absolutely necessary in the bathrooms?? No place to change babies or nurse??? Holy crap what a horrible experience and we did this year after year and went home exhausted from it. Spiritually recharged??? Hell no. Resentful and hating our spouses for going to work for the "trucking department" and being gone the entire assembly and leaving US with the crabby, uncomfortable, tired children ALL DAMN DAY.

Yeah...I spent a lot of those assemblies HATING those asswipes who STOLE the round seats with all the floor room in that Gold CUp room from those of us who had kids and needed it.

nelly, gillingham, has been going for some years now. I think it was moved to avoid the costs of the london stadiums. Gillingham is awfull, the parking is bad, the traffic caused by it all is terrible, there is no area to walk around in, and it gets loads of rain.

pThe wars died down after 1995 with fewer people attending each convention/assembly. The circuit I was even combined and became 2 instead of 3. Before they did that it was a ghost town. Shutting down the cafeterias for food at the assembly halls opened up the seating in those areas too. A tip on prime spots if you still go, never leave it unattended but an assertive friend or family member should stay behind and "guard" them. I am disabled but I don't have a sign/cane or chair. I had one officious attendant demand I prove I deserved to be there. I just ignored him. I noticed I was not the only one. He was gone before the session opened. Probably "carded" the convention chairman's mother.

Oh yeah. The mad rush for seats. At Qualcomm the only really good open seats were on the second level...they all had cushions in them, and were head and shoulders above the main level's seats in terms of quality. Those were the first to go, along with all the coveted spots under the overhangs that were in perpetual shade.

Box seats were always a mystery. Who got to sit in them? Who got to sit in those press boxes? While I sweltered down below with the other peons, I'd always wonder what was going on...

Mrs.J, I went to the oakland coliseum as a kid too. It was uncomfortable. Plus, I lost my teddy bear, Daniel. It sucked.

Oh you poor thing. Ya'll must have been sitting in the bleacher section when it still had those hard wooden planks. Used to sit there too (most times cuz Mom would always make us late and that was usually what was left ) but it still seemed fun...didn't know any better.
