twinkle toes, thank you for the tidbits, he does not deserve to be the WT attorney, but if he wants to, he can leave Bethel and make alot more money outside, I would think the GB wants to prevent that from happening, so the lawyers get better perks so they will stay at Bethel. The WT need them badly, legal dept is vital to the Watchtower. Without the legal dept, the Watchtower will collapse in a heartbeat.

Valley Farms Corporation ? Not much info. on here about it , Charles. J. Rice (appropriate name ?) is President. Who he ?
I presume it runs the food production side, but how is it funded ??? Is it receiving funds from a charity and if so why, who takes the profits ?
worth a close look ? I am in U.K so not sure how to search for detailed info on American Corps.

$425,500 is a lot for Patterson, NY. The homes in this neighborhood are about half a million dollars--a lot for rural NY.
It was built 20 years ago and is on almost 2 acres.
I don't understand. Is the idea that wts bought this property for one of their volunteers? Using donated funds? That is messed up!
What's this guy's deal? Is he a volunteer or paid staff? I guess if he's paid and this is in lieu of salary, then it's none of our business.

Valley Farms is a corporation maintained to pay taxes on residential parcels. When they say that they pay taxes on ___% of their property (which they often say to the neighbors to keep them off their backs) it is because they pay on these small residences. (There may also be a liability issue too- if I know the WT Society right.) They also use Valley Farms as a front to purchase property when a local doesnt want to sell to WT.
As far as I know, Brumley did go to law school while at Bethel- whether on a scholarship or paid by Bethel, I dont know. I used to really think that was cool, until I realized the slimey stuff the Legal Dept does. Those guys are worse than the GB in my book. They not only know the real scoop, they scheme to protect the power of the few.

No Apologies
Again note the double standard at work, r&f JWs strongly discouraged from pursuing an education, meanwhile headquarters sends Bethelites to Law School.

Thanks, lkr. That proves that money is what drives the WTS.
