I was simply comparing the house price with my state in Australia. Do you always use condescending replies?? For the record I am an educated person with a university degree, yes I was a dub, but my parents actually encouraged me to go onto further education, even though it was frowned upon.

May I offer you some advice, try being considerate in your posts and you may find you will become a better person within.

Sorry guys- the houses they buy for lawyers, doctors and other "professionals" who have given up their profession to come to Bethel- are just houses- nothing fancy. They are considered an amazing luxury to other bethelites- because they have a kitchen, laundry room, dining room and more than 500 square feet. But they are just typical houses. No mansions. The problem is that they are used to living like normal people and often they or their wives cannot adjust to the regimented schedule and communal living at Bethel (because it isnt normal!!!)- so in order to induce them to stay and drill Bethelites teeth, or remove bunions from their feet, etc, etc-they provide a house for them.

In the case of Brumley- he just milked the system- he was a career Bethelite who convinced someone that he needed a house because he was a professional too.

The 2 acre lot was what impressed me.

And didn't everyone give up a "profession" to come to bethel? It's hard not to view this as a double standard/preferential treatment.

@IrKr and anyone with evidence: Do you have any documentation showing the, as you call it, slimy stuff the legal dept. get up to? Any evidence what-so-ever would be helpful.

Make no mistake I am not tearing down the WTS Legal, I like them in fact! Sure they have to do lawyer stuff like joining a lawsuit with the likes of scientologist and or being 'amicus curiae' with Jimmy Swaggart......but understand they are suppose to be lawyers first and JWs second...it is their job!
