I'm so sorry Purps. I've heard it's nasty. How long does it last? I've heard 3-5 days.

I had the original swine flu back in 1976. That laid me out for 3 weeks. I was delirious for several days; don't really remember how many. Blew me out of the water on algebra because by the time I got back to school everyone else had been taught but me!

I got a vaccine a week ago. So, if I make it through another week, I should not get the swine flu.

27 have died so far here in Ontario.

Of course in all of Cananda, a typical flu season takes out over 2000 people.

Since kids here get 2 shots, 21 days apart ( Half dosages), I have spoken to my MD and he says that it is a good idea to get them and me and my wife too, even though I haven't gotten the flu in years and am rarely sick.

I missed work last Friday, went back Tues, it was too soon.

Missed Wed and I am here today doing much better.

I think the alien finally left my body yesterday some time.

Although, I got sick with the symptoms a week ago, I feel very weak and tired and have a terrible cough still.

I read on one site the symptoms being disorientation and confusion, which I experianced.

Disorientation and confusion often accompany fever, which the flu involves. These symptoms are nothing new... the flu always sucks, swine or not.

    daniel-p,

I have had both kinds of flu, this was really different, I did not think it was different because it was swine flu, I did not know it was swine until almost a week later.

I never thought I ran fever, if I did it was very low-grade.

I thought I was reacting to the meds I was taking,

anyway, it does not really matter,

    hope everyone stays well

    and

has some kind of insurance and/or loved ones that will help out.

    Purps,

Both my grandkids had it. They were in the ER and dr offices. It took 2 weeks for them

to get over it. Lots of fluids, motrin..(for fever and aches)....I'm just thankful Kelli, who is

pregnant didn't get it!! Let us know how everyone is doing!

Two of our grandkids had it, and one developed pnemonia. A few days in the hospital cleared it up. My husband and I had the following symptoms that spanned over a three week period: started as a sinus headache for a few days, then became a head cold for a few days, then developed fever, chills, body aches, dizziness, confusion, extreme fatigue, and a chest cold. Now that we're a few weeks past the worst, we both still have a chronic cough, feeling hot and cold and fatigue. This thing has really kicked our asses! Now I have a sore throat and ear infection...doctor said it is strep.

Our doctor said yesterday that we should've used Tamiflu with the onset of symptoms, and the flu would've only lasted two or three days. So, if you start feeling sick, use the Tamiflu. I sure wish we would've!
