I had decided to take it but now I've read some more about it and now I've no clue...my appointment is tomorrow

I'm 35 and healthy other wise so I'm not in the risk group.

    Thanks

That's a decision that you, and you alone, will have to make, Newby.

    I'm not fully decided myself.

As Snowbird has just said it is your decision. My wife is diabetic and has been given the jab for years and has had the H1N1 last week. She has never had any side effects (other than a painful arm for a couple of days.

When I was young, I never took a flu shot. Then I caught the type B flu (the milder one!). After that experience, I got and still get a flu shot yearly. In the more than 25 years since, I've never caught the flu.

I saw my doctor today and she gave me shit for not getting it yet because I'm in a high risk category. She didn't have any but they were giving it out one floor down. The reason I didn't get it yet is because I was hearing news reports of people lining up for 6-7 hours only to be turned away because of the clinic running out. I don't have the time or patience to wait for hours. Maybe I'll get it next week when I go in for some tests.

Judge, would you mind explaining why you say no? since I'm leaning more towards no also?

    Thanks

I took it. No side effects aside from a sore lump on my arm for a day.

I won't be taking it, but that is my personal choice. I took a flu shot years ago, it did not seem to make a difference.

Of course if everyone else takes the flu shot then it decreases the chance that I will catch the flu. Ha, Ha.

My son had the swine flu shot last weekend (asthmatic). He had a sore arm, was feverish and achy for a couple of days, had a couple of poor nights' sleep, but he's fine now. He had the seasonal flu shot a few weeks ago and only had a sore arm for two days - no other symptoms.
