Cthulhu
They are used to living in a sci fi fantasy world, so they gravatate toward it. It's a wonder they aren't all playing dungeons and dragons...after all, they play Jehovah's Witnesses every friggin day

Star Trek is awesome, isn't everyone a fan????
Seriously, not sure, maybe its because without realizing it, they are attracted by its vision of a better world - a "paradise" if you will, which is the same thing that probably drew them to the JWs in the first place.
I'll never forget an elder's wife and I were discussing Star Trek one day, she made some comment about how wonderful it would be if the future would be just like Star Trek.... I'm thinking, hey, we're JWs, what about a paradise erf, having big picnics every day and playing with lions and bears, I thought that's what we were all hoping and wishing for.

Oh yeah, I also remember as a kid, back in the 70s, hoping Armageddon wouldn't come before Star Trek made it to the big screen! Seriously!

Cthulhu: "They are used to living in a sci fi fantasy world . . ."
Their religion is like a bad science fiction movie but I've never noticed any fascination with Star Trek amongs the Witnesses.
Nelly136: "they wish they could multiply as fast as tribbles?"
If they only had the personality of a tribble that would not be such a bad thing.

What only JWs are fascinated with science fiction stories such as Star Trek and alike.
I don't think its only JWs that hold exclusivity in this.
Its just a good healthy imagination at work.

Makes sense. Their Jehovahgod lives in the Pleiades star group, and almost certainly flits back and forth to Starfleet Headquarters Bethel with a warped drive to cover the distance quickly. Star Trek is utopian in that no one has to work because matter and energy are manipulated with such ease that there is no nominal cost for basic needs, just like paradise Earth. This would definitely appeal to a dub who must do a lot of manual labor to survive, while at the same time being too lazy to do any basic Bible research and letting lackies in the corporation tell them what it says. Finally, the whole idea of surrendering your individuality to the organization is realized in the Borg collective, who coincidentally also wear bad suits. It is very likely many dubs wish to be able to easily assimilate others into the organization and strongly identify with the Borg Collective. Perhaps a dub feels right at home in the Star Trek universe.

Never noticed any particular fascination. In fact I would be surprised if any in my cong watched any sci-fi movie at all. g95 12/8 was a great reminder to all dubs to keep away from this kind of entertainment too.
