Can You Spot a JW in a Crowd?

Is there anything that might distinguish a JW in a crowd?

A certain way of dressing? Mannerisms? Habit? Attitude?

Anything that would indicate a stranger might be a JW?

Do JWs have a sort of antenna for recognizing other JWs even in a different town?

I can spot them two blocks down the road with just a glance.

When I'm out with friends who've never been a JW they will ask how I know they are not Mormons or something else and I can explain in detail what is different about them.

That's what I am asking for. The details. Please explain. Thanks.

Yeah, they are ones working the gas pumps and cleaning your windows, wearing smart clothes and smile inanely.

I went to the Apostanoodle a couple of weeks back, great fun ! Before we all met I was waiting in the Pub, just nursing a pint ( honest) , waiting for the "appointed time" . So I thought I would play "Spot the ex-JW" as I only had seen a photo of two of the guys going and hadn't met any of the others.

I picked out "Mickey Mouse" in the pub.

I suppose it was a bit " elementary my dear Watson " as she was on her own and looked terribly respectable and nice, bit of a giveaway.

If Dubs are going from D to D, strange town, anywhere, I can tell who they are, and they do look different to the Mormon guys, different style of dress, and the Mormons look happier !

    Hi cameo,

Especially in restaurants ... men and women of some churches do dress similar to JWs, but I feel it's the tots that are the dead giveaway: lads in suit-and-tie ensemble and lasses in dresses. It's the total package of parents and dubettes. Too, the hour of the day: Sunday p.m. and Tuesday or Thursdays after 9:30 p.m. [with some variations, of course, in areas of multiple congregations]. Service personnel "love" late arrivals!!!!!!!!

I used to be able to, grey suits , cheap shoes , battered briefcase etc, and there is clearly a difference between the Mormons who wear a name badge, rucksack and sup 7UP in cafes, but because R&F Dubs are becoming so Worldly it is becoming harder, many have tattoo's, piecing's, wear immodest clothing. These days it's very hard, in the USA I believe all Dub sisters wear panty hose/tights/stockings where as at summer convention's in the UK you rarely see Dub sisters wearing these.

I can spot them. It's that smug look and bookbag that gives them away.

Oh yeah...when they are on the street the snails are outpacing them on the sidewalk. They leave little or no tip at restaurants. If someone is a window washer but owns more than one suit...hes a JW.
