They probably want people who have some 'sin' as this gives them leverage - we won't tell on you if you don't tell on us.

Thats CRAZY!!! I got removed as a MS just for not enough hours in the field circus!!! Was pretty bitter bout that one, bcuz I was sooo "toiling and loaded down" by all the assignments... I had trouble maintaining good FS numbers!!! I sure didnt commit any serious offense!! hmmm... INSANE!! Priorities are just a tad bit off!!!

not too long ago, a sister came to us, confessing a sin, that was years ago.
one of the elders remembered this instruction, and the BOE decided, not to make a JC, only to give her spiritual help.
So in this case it was applied to a "normal" publisher as well, not sure, if it really was in line with the ORG.

Whatever happened to the stumbling card? They play that liberally on the regular witlesses, yet they are off the hook when it comes to stumbling others (though they are supposed to be the most exemplary of the group).

The Elders, MSs, Pioneers, etc... are supposed to be taking the LEAD in doing whaAt is sinful right! And to be held MORE accountable for their actions/behaviors! (at least thats the way I always understood it to be!)

We were told very clearly to write "except in the case of porneia" in the margin of our papers (we did not have the manual neither as a book nor as brochures back then, just as loose sheets).

I gotta agree with that thought. For those that say it can apply to MS/Pioneer/others, it is not the same. A few elders might decide to overlook a WT-defined sin for a member because of some loophole they can find, but it is a written policy to consider in the case of an elder violating rules that ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS result in judicial actions when a non-elder violates them.
Certainly, that is a double-standard that should actually be the opposite of what it is.

It is stated that if an elder commits a sin he is required to report it to the other elders, is it not? I'll check with my book, but that is the case as far as I recall.
