Knowing that most people condemn ethnic cleansing and the extermination of the Jews, how do you as a JW's rationalise mass murder by god at Armageddon?

I always had problems reconcilling this and was wondering if anyone really could.

It's just a common theme in religion.Sodom and Gomorrah, the flood.

That is something that alway brothered me. It is almost like some sick twisted people who want to see death. Like in Tony Morris's talk where he said

"I was in Vietnam. I have seen mass death....human casualties. I have smelled burning human flesh after a helicopter crash. I saw only a glimpse of what it will probably be like at Armageddon. We must be prepared."

I found what he said there to be very offensive. Just like when 9-11 happened and some of the JW's were excited over it.

To me they are just so sick. How can they really think Jehovah will look down and bless them is beyond me.

I'm not one of the JWs, but I'll start the ball rolling by saying one is
people killing people without a reason of defense or justice. It was mainly due
to bastardized Darwinism about race. It didn't bring about heaven but just
added a huge death toll to history and human government went on.

The other is a faith/hope concern that God, who has the prerogative to give or
take human life, someday ends all human authority, including the ability to
cause such things, and replaces it with rule in heaven/Paradise, swords turned
    to plowshares, etc., by God.

The conflict would change doubters and take everyone into the next phase
(Russell) or just take those who went along with God according to the JWs
leaders overview of things (Rutherford on).

That was just the way it was going to be.

All of my school mates were going to die. It was just the way it was. No point in making friends. They were bird food. So was I cos I was never good enough. Parents were supposed to get you off but I was a sinner and I knew it so I didn't warrent parental protection.

My schoolmates have died of heart disease, accidents and cancer. I'm still here. The wanker with the killer God who hasn't killed anyone is still here waiting for God.

C'mon arsehole. Where are you? You weren't supposed to make my family look like pratts. You better get your arse down here and kill someone pronto or we will all think you are just a figment of some mushroom muncher's dinner.

I did not accept it. I had too many non-jw family and friends that I cared about. I could not accept that minor children were going to die forever. Minor children who died when Jerusalem was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar and later in 70 CE by the Romans did not die forever allthough in what the WTS calls a judgment period. Not accepting that was one of my steps out of the WTS.

I have heard people say Jehovah will just let the children and babies fall asleep and not wake up.And that he would cause us not to feel bad when our families and neighbors are all dead.None of that makes any sense. But then they say that is why the last days are lasting so long. The longer they last the more people to die.....

It was so EVIL...I guess that is why I couldn't accept the fact that a God of love is worst than the Nazzis, or the Othoman Turks who literally vanished millions of people including infants

I have recently been watching a programme about the final solution and was struck by the following. The commandant of Aushwitz had been anxious that the Jews were unaware of the fate that awaited them, not due to compassion but due to the need for efficientcy. As a result the whole process of getting undressed and entering the showers was done in an atmosphere of calm and normality. This was death accomplished on a grand scale, efficient, calm and effective.

But this makes it more horrible not less, the quest for the perfect way to kill millions is revolting. Even if Jehovah were to kill babies in their sleep would it make it less abhorrant? Whatever the reason mass murderers are generally not people you want to get close to divine or not.

If we are made in God's image and we feel disgust how would God feel about this concept?

I was asked this question by a Bible Study once, it really bothered them and there is nothing helpful that really offers comfort. It would indeed be worrying if people's lives depended on Field Service. How many witnesses are truly effective in the field and how many offer the mags and get out quickly? It does say in the Bible that if his prophets wouldn't speak his words then the stones would cry out. I can't help thinking a few screaming stones would be more effective than some witnesses I have worked on the service with.
