My singing was bad and I did not usually sing, but for some years I played the rotten piano at the kingdom hall because there was no competent player available. It was a relief (not for the ears though) when they finally decided to use the tapes instead, I just no more wanted to 'watch those (interesting and) false notes'...
How Good Was/Is Your Singing Of The Kingdom Songs?

I always used to dog it. I never sang the Kingdumb Maladies in such a way as to do any good. The slimebag that dragged me into the cancer wanted my singing to be audible from across the Kingdumb Hell, even if it lacked tonal quality (his was tonally atrocious but substantial in volume). Eventually, I simply muttered the songs, and then I stopped doing even that.
As for that "God is love" song, the factually correct version is:
"God's a Jerk, and Therefore He Forbids Us
From Ever Having Any Fun" -

I recall that the highest volume kingdom hall singer of songs I ever heard was none other than the famous (infamous?) Hayden Covington. Deep baritone histrionics, way the hell off key, but held forth as if there was nobody else in the place.
Of course, he was drunk at the time.
