OT God YHWH versus Jesus' Father (page 3)

So, in your view, there are two real gods, the father god and the creator god. The creator god being somewhat impetuous and immature, and the father god more mature and laying himself on the line, when it counts.

Just in case the question is directed at me, I believe there are two real divine Beings who make up God - the Creator and the Father.

I believe the Creator God is YHWH of the OT, impetuosity or immaturity notwithstanding.

From what I can gather, the gnostic understanding is kind of like Valentine Michael Smith's. "Thou art god." Everything came from The One and everything has a piece of Him in them. They believe Jesus is actually the son of that One and His feminine counterpart Sophia, who depending on who you ask was either the opposite side of the Father-god coin or that Father-god's first offspring. Yaldabaoth is considered to be the offspring solely of Sophia who created him on her own without guidance, permission, or input from the Father. Yaldabaoth went on and created our world, The God forgave Sophia, then Sophia and her/their Son spent the rest of their time in opposition to Yaldabaoth (who became the YHWH of the OT).

It's all pretty new to me right now but quite fascinating. Their take on Jesus as the counter to the OT god is pretty interesting stuff.

Ok, snowbird. That's what i thought you believe. It's fine w me, although the fact that the nt calls jesus the son kind of messes it up. I see where you differ w the agnostics. They see the creator god as a separate entity from the ultimate god, and even ignorant of it. Whereas, you see them as both a part of one god. Again, i'm just clarifying your view in my own mind.

PSAC, if you haven't done so already, I suggest you google The Amarna Tablets (note particularly "Strong Is He Who Has Come Down") and The Lachish Letters.

You will see that the people of the nations testified to YHWH's butt-kicking abilities.

Its a rip off from Sumerian texts:

An is supreme god has two sons Enlil and Enki. Enlil is god of the "hoe", agriculture, earth. Enki is god and creator of man, animals, god of wisdom, medicine, knowledge, great teacher, healer... Sumerian equating to "Jehovah" and "Satan" is not such a big leap, especially when you read the Sumerian creation stories and "fall". By the way Enlil was an asshole who wanted to destroy man, Enki wanted to give men freedom and not slavery...

Ask yourself this: How many people did Satan kill in the Bible, how about Jehovah? Why did Jehovah "curse the ground" and make it hard for Adam to grow crops? Why did Moses erect a copper serpent around a pole and have the Israelites look at it to be saved (serpent wrapped around a pole is the emblem for the God Enki in Sumerian texts)?

How many people to Jehovah resurrect in the Bible? How about Jesus? What were the attributes of Jesus? Hmmm, great teacher, healer, etc...
