The Bible lies. Every "blessing" is nothing more than a pre-fabricated answer to what happens when we get into trouble now. There is one of the relatively few (actually pathetically few) stories that you are supposed to refer to for the solution. You give thanks to Jehovah (or whatever you choose to call God) before He does a damn thing, then pretend you are in that story. Of course, there is no recourse for what happens when you either get nothing or a bad outcome not found in the story. The whole f***ing book of Job is a prime example of this.
Also, anyone that tells me that Adam and Eve were the whole human race at the time is lying. The seeds of mankind were around at that point, and Adam and Eve could well have been the first humans to develop the ability to consciously think. Jehovah wanted to hold them down, and thus hold down everyone else. Satan came along and busted them out of that trap, only to be debased by that Almighty Lowlife Scumbag we know as God. But, that account does not require Adam and Eve to be the only humans on the planet at the time.
Furthermore, the whole first part of Genesis is a fib. You are telling me that everyone came from that lineage? All 9 of the patriarchs in that line? That does not make any sense--and, there is no satisfactory explanation for how a global flood could have all drained into the oceans. Makes about as much sense using this as an explanation for how we got here as it did during the First Dark Ages.

No.
I think it behoves the intelligent person to look at things in a logical way so as to not be led a stray with different claims by whoever that this is or that is the word of god.
First off fantastic claims require fantastic proof. Unless your the gullible type in which case you will swallow BS hook line and sinker.
Secondly, why would a intelligent loving deity require you to believe in him without intelligent proof. Doesn't that sound really fishy if some one is trying to convince you otherwise? As to what a persons motives are for making the claim that god speaks to them or thru them,, they vary in reasons from leftover residual programing received while in a mind control cult to gathering followers or gaining status, or they just might be a drama queen,, the list goes on and on. It also could be mental illness or they fell or got hit in the head and have frontal lobe epilepsy.
But as PT Barnum said there is a sucker born every minute and some people are just too willing to believe and so they are vulnerable to the outrageous claims of others with doing any serious type of investigation.
But, that account does not require Adam and Eve to be the only humans on the planet at the time. |
That part makes sense as I have pondered two possible explanations to the whole Adam and Eve. Either they are indeed the first human pair or they were two people singled out because they were created in God's image. In other words, there were indeed other humans (perhaps lesser humans) who walked the Earth at the time. This would certainly solve the problem of where Mrs. Cain came from but it also introduces a dangerous wrinkle in the human race. If say, the people set aside were of a race different from the rest of humanity, what race is it? Even more so, what are its implications for people today who believe they are of that race? While I cannot confirm this, I recall hearing some members of this group claiming to be set aside by God and made superior to all others in similar context.
While the OT and NT writers were inspired to write about God and Jesus, we can't view their writing as 100% "factual" or infalliable.
Jesus warned the scribes about misleading the people and if we read outside the "aprooved" works of the NT canon we see many different views on many things.
We have to admit to ourselves that people viewed God and Jesus in different ways, even durning the time that jesus walked the earth, heck he wasn't even gone 50 years and there were already differening view points about certain things ( End of days for example) that he taught.
and the GREATEST of love and peace to you, dear one!
So, any word as to the formatting "status"? I thought perhaps dear Simon and Angharad had grown weary of my long posts and perhaps were limiting the size. If that's the case, I am totally fine with that: it is their board, after all, and I am only a guest. And... I understand: my posts (and that of others) can get quite lengthy (my apologies to everyone but, unfortunately, I cannot help it - ). If that's not the case, then I look forward to the "repair." In the meantime, I will post in multiples, if that's okay (Simon/Angharad?).
As always, peace to you all!
