Hmmm, there are plenty of dubs and relatives I'd just tell to hit the road. But not my mom. Something about her giving birth, changing my diapers, and raising me the best she knew how, I just couldn't tell her to go to a motel, even if she had such a stupid JW request. My mom has treated me crappily sometimes, but not that terribly crappily.
If it was my mom, I'd do whatever I could to have her stay and make her comfortable. In this situation, I'd do everything in my power for mom to go away saying, "Damn, what a great kid I raised. The DFing junk is total sh!t. They were all so sweet and respectful even when I was a pain. Next time I come back, hopefully soon, I'll be way nicer." Keep your holiday plans. The family wasn't coming to your house anyway, right? Just let them know that you'll only be able to stay for a shorter time because of your houseguest. Perhaps some of them will be able to stop by your house briefly before or after to say "hi" and let mom know how happy, happy, happy, non-JWs are. Rent some movies to entertain Mom while you're out... but don't get her any porn or anything. That would be in poor taste.
Of course, if Mom got an attitude with "Jesus wasn't born on Dec. 25", I'd be ready to respond, "Jerusalem wasn't destroyed by Babylon in 607 BCE either, Mom."
