The liberal idiots in this country say the same kind of stupidity about their favorite despots:
Re Cuba - "They have a good health care system". Or, "They have free public education".
Re Hezbollah - "They give free medicine to the poor".
This list could go on and on but I think the point is made.
The classic situation that precedes a political revolution is when a government has promised benefits to large numbers of people, and then it reneges on the benefits.
For years, things seem to be getting better. The government takes credit for things getting better. Then things then get unprecedentedly worse. This happened immediately before the French Revolution. It happened immediately before the Russian Revolution. It happened a decade before the American Revolution. We forget about this.
So my answer to "Didn't some good come out of your experience with WTS?"
It doesn't matter that something good came out of it or not. Something good can come out of any difficulty.

Your thoughts are always profound and most welcome. this post has particularly hit the spot with me, and will help me let go of the past, I was 58 years in.
It will also give me a succinct answer to my super-dub family who often hint that what I am today is because of my past. I know that it is really despite my past. (Mind you, what I am today, is a fat, lazy old fart who drinks too much, so perhaps they have point)
