If he can drop by unchaperoned and install software in a sister's computer, I suppose you could ask Dubby Daddy if it's okay for a "brother" to stop by your room and upgrade the firmware that drives the dongle on your laptop. You could mention that it might take a while because the last time the "brother" came, he had to reinsert the hardware several times in your laptop before it was discovered and recognized in your windows.

LILYCURLY- It is a stupid unwritten rule I believe which is supposed to curtail any possibility of a 21 year old brother from poking an 82 year old sister if he transports her alone in field service. I mean, it's ridiculous like everybody is gonna jump each others bones if they are alone in an elevator or something ? LOL!

As regards your dad obeying all the other rules, but not this one - Get used to it. Most Jehovah's Witnesses these days fudge on the rules they disagree with or find inconvenient. Why do you think the religion, er cult makes no sense whatsoever ? One of the many reasons. Your dad's wife shouldn't sweat it - unless the lady who's alone in the house looks like Pamela Anderson, then she has a problem perhaps. LOL ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Under the section: How to keep your clothes on and stay chaste while out in field service.

1. A sister should never be alone with a brother.

2. A brother if an Elder, can be alone with a sister provided she is older than his mother.

3. A childer molester can not, under no circumstance may be alone with a child, unless he is accompanied by another child molester.

4. Brothers should NEVER be alone with a brother if he has feelings for other brothers. - Same applies with sisters

5. Working alone, by yourself in service is okay provided, the householder is of the same sex

5A: What if the the door opens and its someone of the opposite sex? You are to turn immediately away and run as fast as you can

6. Married couples may work together provide they never touch each other - example: holding hands, arm around waist, etc...

7. An older brother can not work with small children -

When I was involved in a big convention drama I recall the stipulation that 'drama' married couples had to be portrayed by real married couples. They were concerned that the close proximity involved with rehearsals, etc. would lead to temptations.

With all the hyper-control of peoples sex lives, even married people, it is no wonder that such situations are always viewed as morally dangerous.

After quitting JWs, have to say, I first was disappointed since it seldom happened like that: just me and women accidentally in a closed room and then soon necessarily out of all control... In fact, that is only happening in cheap porn movies so apparently that's where the Governing Body must have found their idea.

Yeah I hated this one. What was I going to do? Get it on with old people? Puke.

Even recently-ish, when I was faded but still pretending to be in - my dad was in hospital in a small outback Aussie town, on his own, with only me to stay with him. We get in contact with a jw couple there who my parents have known for years, it is suggested that I stay with them as it would have been extremely unsafe for a female on her own to try to stay in any hotel.

I don't freak out quite so much because I think I have a place to stay. Then the guy rocks up, and I get told later (not by him, by my siblings that were only there for a couple of hours) that I can't stay with them because his wife isn't there for a couple of nights! ARGH.

Lucky for me the lovely nurses let me stay in a room in the ICU that is reserved for families of people brought in at night.

It was loud and I got people opening the door at all hours of the night, but I got a bed and I got fed. I love non-jws!!!!!!!
