Oh, and "Truth" = CURRENT new light. Not old new light or future new light.
Changes after 1942 are new light from God or an apostasy by the Devil's influence?

Andrew D: Russell had a wierd ideas and even wierder marriage and possibly started watch tower to keep his fortunes away from the mrs. if/when they would have a divorce. Lucky bastard had to jump state to keep from paying her any alimony. Rutherford was a crook!!! To think more of Rutherford than him being a total scambag is not doing a research on the man. Rutherford took the crazy ideas that Russell had and build on them to set himself a king over a bunch of poor ignorant uneducated people and use his "brothers" for his own benefit. There was no light before 1942 nor after. You had wierd teachings before 1942 which were mellowed out after as the population couldn't swallow crap like building a mansion because the ancients are returning :) To grow in numbers post-Rutherford wts leaders had to scale down on the BS but continue pushing the imminent end as sheeple needed to hear that and they still continue to eat this shit up. To this day they need to revise the nearness of the end as the entire religion hangs on this idea that Christ returned invisibly. You obviously didn't do your research on Rutherford to even consider that man your brother. But as a side note since you assume that Rutherford had some sort of light from God why was he pushing Angels and Women book which even some questioned him on it as it was said to be inspired by a demon and Rutherford rebuked the individual claiming the book was excellent source of information - not in exact words. I can pass over Russell as some delusional man who possibly believed his crap until he died but that's where it ends for me, Rutherford and the rest who came after knew or should have known that they were selling BS to the masses!!!!

What's saddest about the current WT leadership is that it actually makes the Russell/Rutherford era seem appealing.
Better to be bat-shit crazy and at least INTERESTING than bat-shit crazy and just absolutely boring as hell.

ANDREW- Welcome to the board. But are you kidding me ? The organization was under the Devil's control from the BEGINNING ! Right from 1879 or whatever until 1942 and beyond until today. New light, old light, headlights, doesn't matter. The people at the top of the WT society have had powermongering , evil designs on controlling members right from the start ! They actually have had NO LIGHT at all ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Maybe, Flipper, but Russell, Rutherford, Franz, et al, were at least fascinating (like the train wreck you can't tear your eyes off) compared to the current crop of zombies. I mean, David friggin' Splane? No intelligence, charisma, nothing. Not even Jaracz-esque disproportionate-fear-of-God compelling. So sad...

It's sad when the most interesting thing about your religion are the various conspiracy theories that surround it.

Dear Brother Derevyanko,
So many of the young ones on this board do not remember what a true servant of the Lord Brother Rutherford was. They can't see past his whoremongering, alcoholism and outlandish writings. The Judge was rare example of courage, allowing the WWII brethren to be tarred and feathered, jailed, mocked and persecuted for the Lord's sake while he himself never went in field service.
May Jehovah grant his she-bears the pleasure of ripping the flesh of these Servants of Satan! Say Aye!

Don't forget how he bravely chose to reside in the Beth-Sarim mansion rather than give into those damned heathen pagan naysayers and sell it so the money could be better used to further Kingdom interests when the princes never showed up.

Andrew,
Was this light form Jehovah?
"Based upon the argument heretofore set forth, then, that the old order of things, the old world, is ending and is therefore passing away, and that the new order is coming in, and that 1925 shall mark the resurrection of the faithful worthies of old and the beginning of reconstruction, it is reasonable to conclude that millions of people now on the earth will be still on the earth in 1925. Then, based upon the promises set forth in the divine Word, we must reach the positive and indisputable conclusion that millions now living will never die." (Millions Now Living Will Never Die. 1920 p. 97)
How is this failed prophesy any better than anything the Watchtower printed after Judge Rudderless died?
Cheers
Chris
