I just noticed those are peak figures that are quoted, which can be volatile.
I think I'd use the word "misleading" rather than "volatile".
As has been noted numerous times on this board, the "peak" numbers always come from the August report, and always include numerous multiple reports from the same publisher.
For example, if Brother Smith forgot to turn in his time reports for May and June, the secretary will mke a special effort to get those missing reports in by the end of the service year. Brother Smith will turn in 3 reports (May, June, August) and will be counted as 3 separate publishers in that month's report.

Maybe some secretaries made this mistake but I reckon that it would have been bad practice. I was a secretary for (ahem - too many) years and always just added up the total of the hours and the publisher was only counted as one. The WTBTS official instruction is to count up the number of publisher record cards which should balance with the number of publishers listed on the monthly report. And to be honest , I never made any special effort in August (or any other month) to chase up errant ones as many were away on holiday anyway. And don't forget that even if secretaries are guilty of double or even triple counting publishers , this would even itself out on an annual basis in terms of percentage increase.
Anyway - who cares about number of publishers - the figure we all want is the number of partakers - my guesstimate 10,345. Come on - somebody spill it....
Joker 10 ; as requested by others is it possible you could give the total memorial partakers and list the countries with zero/negative and minimal growth?
A bit puzzled why 1.1 million Americans get eternal life while the same number of East Timorians are bird feed – 99.99996% of the population
Ain't that the truth - maybe somebody could write to the Crooklyn and ask them.
I wish they would publish the number of people who leave, but we all know that won't happen.
There are more ex-Witnesses than Witnesses, I'm sure.

Interesting...according to these figs they baptized 276000, which is less than last year
Publishers increased by 188000....where did the missing 88000 go?
The comparing the baptism #'s to the "increase" # is very important. It shows overall trends in membership retention vs. attrition.
Memorial partakers 10,857! An 8.7% increase on last year.
Well, well, well, there's a thing.. no wonder there's been a recent WT telling people to to lay off the grape juice and crackers this year.
