ARC ideals with land management, religion, and conservation coming together. From what I have gleaned there must be a commitment to protect biodiversity....written pledges, statements of action, etc. I believe this is done through the WWF Core Forest Advisory Group.
The land for the monastery compound is only about 49 acres out of the total of 98 acres (?). The land not used... is for preservation.
Once you are a member of ARC, then World Bank Environment comes into a supportive role.
Many have no idea what the World Bank is doing dealing with such obscurantist bodies as religions.
However, world religions are being brought together under ARC and the World Bank.
