Not as difficult as they think.
I finally gave up on the toilet seat. Now I embrace the experience of going in the bathroom and softly putting it down with a big smile on my face. I've surrendered.
Women need the toilet seat down 100% of the time (for obvious reasons.)
Men, less than a 1/3 of the time. We'll say 33%.
Who is making it inconvenient for who?
Where the dissonant attitude comes from is, I think, the idea that things should be convenient at all times.
People tend to spend more money than necessary on convenience which indicates a sense of entitlement to leisure.
(7-11 stores sell everyday items at three times the normal retail and people accept it because it is convenient!)
More and more people want what they want when they want it.
Not just women. Men too.
Men treat women as a convenience which leads to trouble.
Men want to poke and squeeze them whenever the feeling arises. Convenient for the man, not for the woman.
Men want and expect whatever they want and expect to be convenient.
So, the ONLY thing men don't understand about women is why they so often inconvenience them in their expectations.
Here is a clue: in a fifty-fifty relationship each fifty has to be 100%.
**sigh**
It's not really about the toilet seat.
It's about respect.
Terry is bang-on.
The toilet seat controversy is a nonissue in my house (three sons and a hubby) which means the toilet seat is always down...at least when I get in there.
I'm in the 3rd generation of my family who puts toilet seats down EVERY TIME. It's unsightly to see it up. I never put it up, save to clean it, so it's disgusting to have to touch. It's also a filthy habit to leave it up and spread all those germs to the rest of the house. Flushing sends E. choli and hepititis all over the bathroom and the towel you dry your hands on, your toothbrush, and the cup.
Whoever lifts it can lower it. Get a sense of decency and class!
I live by myself, and my toilet seat is always down. I'm actually like a woman when it comes to that. I hate it when other guys use it and leave it up.
