The words "in the sense" should have been a red flag that the thought presented by the Society is incomplete; it begs the question, "Okay, in what sense, then, is the doctrine biblical?"
I would also say that the Society could have picked a better source. Many scholars and interpreters who profess a trinitarian view of God do not necessarily regard it as underlying biblical revelation (as if it were there all along underneath the text), but as a product of a process of biblical interpretation that brings about a theology viewed as true.
