I am going for the first time to a local Kingdom Hall. I seem to have the same ideas as the Jehovah's Witnesses. I was raised southern Baptist, but I never could get into it. It was like a routine, but I always had different views than the Baptists do. It is so nice to find like-minded people in this crazy world. It was such a relief when I sat down and a JW shared her values with me. We had the same thoughts. I am 39 years old and it has taken me this long to FINALLY find a place where I can relate to and understand others. I guess I just wanted to say "Thank you for knocking on my door."

    How many cats "own" you?

How many of them own sweaters?

Welcome to our forum, leslieUsry. Hang on to your seat, dear, 'cause you don't know the meaning of crazy or routine yet!

Welcome to the forum, leslieUsry! When you get a chance, ask your JW friend if, at some point in the future you decide to leave the Witnesses, will she still be your friend?

If her answer is "No" or "It Depends" you might want to rethink joining this group. They tend to 'shun' those who leave. For some additional insight on their beliefs, check out www.jwfacts.com.

Good luck with your first visit. Let us know how it goes.

I'd like to recomend that you research the Watchtower Corporation WITHOUT using their material first, then see if you would still care to "join".

Are you sure you want to get on this ride? One thing you must know, you can get on but you can't get off or you can join but you can't quit or like the Hotel California you can check in but you can never leave.

Research this religion very carefully they (The Jehovah's Witnesses) discourage independent thinking. Which means you cannot think for yourself and if you do and you disagree with them you can be socially shunned.

Be careful know what you are doing.

Oh boy did you ever walk into a spider's web.

Have you really done any kind of research on this publishing corporation.

For example the thousands of deaths that they were responsible for, including children.

The history alone of false commercialized doctrines sold to the public to create financial wealth.

This what you've been searching for all your life has it ........really ?

You didn't find god Leslie you found a man made constructed corrupt Publishing Corporation, masquerading as a true religious order.

Seriously think about what your getting yourself involved with before you too lose you life, mentally and perhaps even physically.

    I wish you well.

The JWs are a great fit for about .01% of the population.

If that particular high-control group starts to get on your nerves, there's always Scientology!
