Perry: I strive every day to be worthy of their love. I do NOT want them to love and respect me out of a sense of indebtedness for anything I may have done. Yeah, I gave them life, so what? If I were to condemn them to death or torture for not playing by my rules, I would not deserve their love.

People are people, some are arrogant some are not. A lot of religious people are arrogant. They have to be because after all they have a direct line to the supreme being in the whole universe. Not a lot of people have that. I certainly don't. If I did, I'd think I was the best thing since sliced bread.

Well, hmmmm, How about the promise of 'salvation'? Haven't seen that yet have we? Peace is promised by God isn't it? Where is that happening? Gee - I can't imagine where I dreamed up 'biblical promises' that have gone unfullfilled, since the whole document is filled with them!

I believe the problem is that some view being a Christian with being a pacifist.
The Apostle Paul was certainly no pacifist.

I don't view christians as pacifists at all. Some of the bloodiest hell on earth has been at the hands of christians. What I see is a group of people that (for the most part) are not willing to live and let live, but must try to make others live according to thier beliefs. Judgmental and intolerant.
