dying is something humans have done for centuries and centuries, its only the jw programming that makes the thought of dying an unatural event.

So they think getting destroyed at Armageddon is bad? How about living through the tribulation, only to find that everyone that I care about is destroyed because I drove them out of the "truth" or because they couldn't bear living with me? (Next time You want to pull a religious scam like that on me, Jehovah, you better make sure you FIX this issue). All I ever have to look forward to is men--and it's my fault. All because I didn't go apostate back when I had the chance.
How's that for a guilt trip? At least the "do more" guilt trip only lasts until I get destroyed, and would be nowhere near as bad as everyone that I have any positive feelings for being all gone on my account.
The WT ideal of living in paradice is standing in a field eating apples and getting diaeria for the rest of there life.
It was the violent sort of death that was pictured in the books and mags the was meant to scare everyone- remember Paradise Lost, no one likes pain so the natural fear was played up. Kind of like the old time Bilbe thumpers preaching Fire and Brimestone, eeesh what a cruel bunch.
Living while "dead" in hellfire is a lot worse than the Big A.
