It depends on the hosting provider, the plan and it's features, bandwidth consumed, etc. I know a few sites where the costs run into the thousands each month.

I've actively participated on that forum for more than a year. Your characterization rings utterly false with me.
Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence.
Your comments sound more like buyer's remorse (ironically, for a donation), rather than a legitimate beef.
Perhaps you could follow Jesus advice and contact "them alone" and discuss the matter.
Just my two cents.

They have received over $1,000 in donations in the last year and get an average $71 a month on google ads. Check out the "treasury" tab they are asking for money for January. There have been a number of pleas in the last year for money to keep the site up and running and everytime people donate and yet it's never enough. They pay $60 a month to host and the host company does a terrible job. The site has actually been down a number of times in the last year for nonpayment to the host company.

You really don't get it, do you? Just because they ask for money doesn't mean you have to give it. There's no law against them asking. If you're stupid enough to give money to everyone who asks then you deserve to lose it, so quit your whining.

Vilot, you have befriended many people at JWS, and many people there consider you their friend. This is sad to see you acting this way. It was explained to you in detail last night that you had legitimate concerns but that there is a certain way to address those concerns. If there is wrong doing on JWS, it will come to light, and I for one will not sugar coat it. But until then why not give April and Wes the benefit of the doubt. Whatever disagreements we may have with a person, the manner you are going about it is not the right one.
It truly does sadden me to see you making these unsubstantiated claims.

There are alot of fine people there and they depend on the site for social networking. I just hate to see them held hostage the way they are. I'm not the GODDAMN internet police but I hate to see good people taken advantage of.

I don't know the site but I know that there are free hosts out there. I participate in a couple boards at freeforums. They don't always offer the features of paid boards, but I would say that if April and Wes are paying $60 a month for hosting then THEY are the ones getting ripped off.
