Thanks for your words of reassurance, I am looking forward to reading CC. I am very pleased to hear that Ray doesn't JW bash.
The reasons for which I personally have left, are all conlusions I came too more or less all by myself, so I now feel ready to read more. I have to confess that the 'stonewalling' I have experienced is so very frustrating. Only listening to 'encouraging' comments about the Org....... Talk about having your ears tickled!

Speaking of things that are BORING Youknow...how about the FOURTH or maybe EIGHTH time by now, of JWS having to be going through the Revelation CLIMAX book paragraph by paragraph, inch by inch,with mind numbingly boring "me me me, I I I, we we we, damn aint WE blessed", self agrandizing total bullshit that the Society puts out?? Jesus. At least Ray didnt jam his down the throats of 5 million people every week and FORCE them to stay awake through it. We are all delighted you read his work tho. We anxiously await your rebuttal. :)

Latte: God I hope not...the last time we did that when I was a JW we had the bookstudy in my house. I had a new baby and had to sit in the back of the room and laugh into the back of his blanket at the absolutely REDICULOUS assertions they were making! Taking an entire book of the bible and applying it to THEMSELVES verse by verse was the most haughty, self righteous, self promoting crap I ever read. It was like stretching a condom over a bowling ball and telling us it was a PERFECT fit and MEANT to be that way LOLOLOL!!!

I'm a lurker passing through to say hi. Yesterday, I posted a couple brief replies to Prisca's "Lurking" post at H20 regarding the C of C book and other thoughts about the witnesses. My husband and I found Franz's story to be very enlightening, but it was only a help to us when we started to do research after reading the book. I know people who have read the book, but continue to kick themselves in the backend everyday because they still believe the witnesses have the "truth."

I thought it was a great read, and very interesting to see the evolution of the org from the top. The most disturbing part was the malawi/mexico stance and what it led to. How anyone could let people die over such a trivial thing as a party card is rediculous. Just like so many other situations, old white men telling everyone else what to do and calling it Dog's word. Who cares what the minorities and women have to say, as long as it comes from the divine channel....
YK's cognitive dissonance won't allow him to appreciate what the book says. Just like any hard line 'hovah that doesn't want his phony fairy tale found out.

If you read COC and it doesn't affect you ...it shows you don't have a conscience. Ray had one and did a very courageous thing in leaving. The DF'g of Ray was disgraceful. The WTS had to do something I guess. They created the offence of 'DA'g...and anyone that associates with a DA'd person should be DF'd! Pathetic!
