YES! Both abused and bullied.
So many examples but I give one here:
An Elder asked if I would read at The Book Study - the BS Elder changed and I never read for several months.
Shepherding call arrived and the new BS Elder asked me if I would like to know why I was never asked to read.
I responded that I didn't want to know; he told me anyway; it was because I wasn't regular on The Ministry.
The Elder I was studying with said I wasn't ready to go on The Ministry!
SO we have a real problem; 3 Elders with different incompatible ideas.
Eventually after about 9 years - CO Clive Pitman told the elders they were wrong; requirements were:
1) Baptised and 2) A good reader - I met those requirements.
I have never been to the KH since but my wife still does!

Very much so. From time to time growing up I found myself in the back because I had asked too many questions and wasn't waiting on jehovah. The term "brow beating" comes to mind....... I really feel for you Mama119.......

i have known a couple that were good (circumstance permitting) but there were a dozen or so that are power hungry arses.
they think they are here to rule with a iron fist. there are probably 5 or so people in my congo affected by these elders, but these guys take it up the arse

Other than being turned into a raging alcoholic in my teens by two Elders, verbally and physically abused, surviving three witch hunts, Not Really.

I dont feel "abused" by the Elders... in my situation, which i'll delve into when I have a spare moment to type a lot, I feel like i was "used" like an object and a wallet.
