Well, probably, about that "accusative", it is his mere description mistake, IMO.

However, about his having excluded the "dative", I think that it is since his new theory or he's ignorant.
That has transcended our knowledge/understanding.

Since he is great genius about Greek, we should be convinced to his explanation.
