They aren't bad. My ex husband loved them. They have a sweet taste to them and so horseradish sauce makes a pretty good dipping sauce.
If you ever make it across the pond, we'll go for plate.
They can be tasty, but they tend to serve huge ones here in the USA so be careful if you are watching your waistline.
They are particularly famous here at the Outback Steakhouse restaurants. But between the onion, breading and grease, the thing come out to like 2,000 - 2,500 calories. About the equivalent to 4 - 5 Big Macs at McDonalds.
If you order one, have a lot of people at the table to share it.
Rub a Dub
They are very good! YUM!
Outback has the big ones, but if you go to Tex's Roadhouse they have the baby blossoms now. They are a smaller version and actually taste better than the big ones and not as greasy!
the annual "fest" here has a booth
that is open every year serving
their version of an "onion blossom"....
usually have 3 people eating off of one,
because they are battered and deep fried
and when they cool off they are too greasy
even with the yummy horseradish sauce....
one of the only reasons i still go to the "fuss"
is to get an onion blossom ( and a funnel cake)!!!
They are sooo good!! I'm glad the husband and kids love it just as much..keeps me from eating too much
We have it at Outback Steakhouse.
i've seen big onions here but the ones they use for these look maaaahuuuuusive!
ours look about the size of the bit they cut out and throw away.
Yes, they are good! Just share one between several people and you'll be fine. And don't even think about taking any home for later. They are horrible when re-heated.
My family and I just love these things.
Yes they are high calorie, but one can indulge once in a while.
We get them at Outback Steakhouse.
They are quite tasty.
