It seems to me that the Org has managed to dehumanize its members so they are no longer able to understand or feel for their fellow man.

Absolutely, the WT indoctrination states that this system of things is soon to perish so putting forth an effort to make the world a better place is

not in accordance with this theocracy, including ones own personal advancement and security.

All efforts should be to buy and sell the organizations products and advance the power and control of the WTS.,

which is now known to full of pretentious coercion, manipulation and corruption.

So yes the WTS does rob ones self from an individuals humanity and replaces it apathetic delusional self provocation.

That is such great news about your son! I'm so happy for you and your family. I'm also glad you were treated respectfully by the hospital. I hear so many stories of moms being treated horribly by the staff.

I'm glad you weren't put off by my concern. It is genuine but I know it can hard to accept from unknown people. If you ever wanna chat baby stuff feel free to PM me anytime! I can talk it for hours and do so regularly on my other boards. lol.

Firstly congratulations on your new baby.

I have wondered from time to time, what a First aid trained JW would do if presented with a DF`d person suffering, say a heart attack.

I didn`t learn 1st aid `til after I left the WTS so I never thought about it.

Anyone know what the policy (spoken or unspoken) is?

Or do Jw`s just not train as 1st aiders?

To answer your question, "Does the JW Cult Rob People of Their Humanity!"[?], the answer is a resounding "YES".

They must do this to go through life, otherwise they would constantly feel badly about the people who will be killed by their angry, jealous, vengeful, loving God.

I would not be surprised if some of the dubs were making comments on how sad it is that your baby will not survive armagedon, and how they pity your child. Some of the really wacky ones are probably blaming your baby's health conditions on your lack of spirituality. Divine punishment.

I have seen this myself when I was a dub, and have heard the comments about my children since I'm no longer a dub.

The JW cult does rob their people of their true selves. The Governing Body has placed them to be so busy with totally empty things to do. Empty meetings, studying empty literature, empty door to door. They don't have much time to be their genuine selves and do simple genuine acts of love and kindness. I think, many are good-hearted and do good things but that is in spite of the organization, not because of it.

This has got me thinking no matter what you may believe or not believe there are common bonds of humanity that allow us all to empathise and show concern for others in times of distress. It seems to me that the Org has managed to dehumanise its members so they are no longer able to understand or feel for their fellow man.

Have you experienced or noticed this too!

The Watchtower religion ruins the common bonds of humanity. It severed us from the rest of humanity, it severs us in our family relationships and even in our relationships within the organization. I am attending a parenting class with my wife at our local YMCA, and when the teacher describes how to parent, all I can think about is all the things I missed out on as a child with my father. It makes me very sad. My father missed out on so much too in his relationship with me.

All the things we could have done together if we hadn't been involved in all the theocratic garbage we had to deal with in the JWs. It really sucked the life out. Unfortunately, I can't change the past. But I can raise my own son differently.

The WT sucks out our humanity, and creates in its place a fanatical sales team. I've realized that I was damaged in my own humanity. I am only now start to grow in my capacity "to understand or feel for our fellow man", as you mention. Let me tell you, there is so much more joy now, for me, in that I am learning to love others in a way I never did as a JW. I am sorry that you did not receive the love that you deserve in your difficult experience. The "worldlies" are by and large far superior to the poor ruined souls that are in the WT prison. The world is full of wonderful, loving people. I hope you can find your way out and experience it for yourself.
