Well the way I see it Fred:
The fluff posters dont think Im funny.
The Sex party brigade wont let me join in their festivities.
Maybe the Brain drains will let me hang out with them, if I suck up enough.
I want a catbox of my own, a ball of wool to call home.
You can understand that, cant you?

    Hi danni,
Reading 2 days of posts is not going to give you the data and background of posters here.
I suggest you go thru the archives and such before you jump to conclusions about things you really have no knowledge of.
And debating is not worthless.there are many isues that former jw's need to hash out and about.
Please dont forget we came from an org that didnt allow free debate or allow us to question anything. Issues that ffected evry facet of our lives.
Issues that actually destroyed aspects of our being,in which we are trying hard to regain.
    with all due respect.Tina

    Danni,

Alan has a lot of passion for what he does. He is one of a hand full of people that has been in the front lines of exposing the deception of the JW religion. Just as you get sickened with having to deal with some of the scum of the earth on a daily basis in your job, Alan has dealt with the cover ups and deception of the JW leaders first hand. Don't misunderstand his passion for getting the truth out as hate. I have known the man as one of my beast friends for many years and outside of the JW issue he is a damn pussy cat and has the heart of a teddy bear. The only think he hates is lies and injustice. I think you can relate to that.

Well said, I will make note of that. I have been reading the personal stories. My comments are in no way an attack on what someone has suffered.

    Refiners fire,

I use to be a cop like Danni. I see how she is approaching this issue and I am familiar with her fact gathering process. She is sharp as hell and with a little more time she will see the big picture. She has almost a hundred years or so of facts to gather before she will see what most of us already know.

    Danni,
I have seen the DA do the same thing at times. It's little things like that that pushed me leave the force. I know that you understand what I was getting at.

A little fact help here. This DB is made of about 95% exJW's. That is why the scales balance on Alan's side. The few JW that come here are mostly like Fred Hall. Just read his little posts and come to your own conclusions.

Robert is well respected on this board especially by Alan. That doesn't make who he tries to defend any more liked here. When you have a religion that tells your family not to talk to you it tends to piss a person off. I know that is hard for you to understand.

I personally have only seen my mom 3 times in 16 years. She is old and dying and her religion tells her she cannot associate with her own son. My only crime is disagreeing with their teachings. Now tell me, is that a crime? Where is the anger in having someone disagree with you? Is it Alans way of thinking or the religion Robert tries to protect? Do you think any religion has the right to tell a mother not to see her son for 16 years simply because he does not agree with their teaching? Are you starting to get a better idea now?

    Dannii.
    Dont be confused.
Everybody here is friends, basically, its all a game.
I wouldnt REALLY kick YouKnow off the board,I'll leave such unfairness
to his church.I only said that in case he was around, to provoke him. If You Know left...who would amuse us?
We would only have Fred.A grim thought indeed.

Ah okay I see now.. And about Fred he's a little funny devil. I laughed at his posts I hope that doesn't offened anyone..Especially you fred.

Hell no I don't agree with that. I am trying to understand the control of telling people to leave their loved ones because they stopped believing. The biggest problem I have with is: how can a mother turn her back on the very children she gave life to. Who will come to her aid in her old age. Her religion or her children? you have heard the saying " no one can replace the children you have"..

I have to admit that youknow didn't say you couldn't talk with your mom. Call her don't let her leave this world without saying good bye to you.

Ya, the man is one of my best friends. That doesn't mean I want to tongue wrestle with the guy, I just have a tremendous amount of respect for him and his family. I'm also working on teaching how to dress properly in public. He's one of those brainieack geeks that we use to make fun of in high school. A Bill Gates kind of person. Someone has to teach him how to comb his hair properly. His wife game me that job!

She is old and dying and her religion tells her she cannot associate with her own son.

The religion does not say that. If you read the Watchtower articles carefully regarding this issue, it says that she cannot have a spiritual association with you. As in talk about spiritual issues. If she does not speak to you then it is her choice.

Danni: Why would a mother decide not to talk to her own son? Well let's look at it from her standpoint. She has faith in Jehovah and the way he does things. The Bible tells us to beware of those trying to destroy our faith, for this could mean our own death in the end. So if she believed that her son is trying to destroy her faith, thus killing her physically, she could choose to avoid him like a plague. In the world, many put restraining orders on family members for fear of bodily harm, so too spiritually this could happen. Many here call this a game, well it's not a game. Our choices today will have an effect on how Jehovah judges us in the end.

<<<I have to admit that youknow didn't say you couldn't talk with your mom. Call her don't let her leave this world without saying good bye to you.>>>

    Danni,
It is not as easy as that. Unless she is actually dyeing or near death is the only time a call from me will be accepted. She is in absolute control of the religion. The three times I have seen her is when my grandmother died and they called me and the other two times is when my mom was in the hospital and they thought she was going to die.

My sister who is also out of the religion went to the hospital with me. She was crying and trued to hug my step dad whom she had not seen in five years for a little comfort. He pushed her away and walked out of the room in front of her.

This is the love they teach. These are the actions they try and cover up. This was six years ago. My Mom had slipped into a coma after a complication in surgery. The gave her a 10% chance of living without a blood derivative to help rebuild her white cell count brought on by an infection. My step dad and other JW brothers and sisters were going to let my Mom die and not give her the medical attention she needed. She needed a blood derivative to live. My sister and I told the doctor to give it to here and we would sign the papers to cover a law suit that would have gone against him for saving her life. He gave it to her and she came out of her coma and lived. All my other brothers and sisters got the benefit of my sister and I stepping in and defending the doctor.

They have enjoyed the company of my Mom for the last six years. My sister and I have not. Now tell me, where is the love, where is the justice? Are you starting to see why some of us are a little angry with the religion?

    Dave
