    Mary Has IT!!

More and more I hear Witlesses saying "IF" Armageddon comes, not "WHEN"

OLd violins make the best sound. May the Old Guy enjoy every second!!

You only live ONCE even if it is forever!!

I think deep down, most Witnesses either do not believe "the End" is nigh and they do not want to live by themselves the rest of their lives when they've been used to having someone there.

Thanks Mary, you hit it on the head.

My father has been in the truth since the mid 1940s. He put off getting married, family, and college because the Society taught in those days that these were not as needed to Jehovah as the field ministry. The "End" was nigh, as proven by the Cold War and Cuban missile crisis, rock-n-roll, hippies, and Vietnam. So, he was a pioneer through the 1950s and 1960s.

It was only until a traveling overseer told him to "get married before I come back..(it's not right for a 35 year old man to be living with his mother)" that he set out to find a wife. He went to a few Kingdom Halls in the area and met a widow with 3 teenagers. After 2 weeks of chaparoned dating, they married. I think both regretted almost all the years of their marriage. Even so, the last few years of their marriage they came to an understanding and regret for making all the years of their marraige living hell for themselves and their family.

Plus, my father has watched his many JW friends die recently. Last year, he traveled far to visit one dying ex-BEthelite who was living in a squalor in the mid-west (no pension, etc). His friend died a few hours before my dad arrived at the hospital.

So, I really think the old JWs do not beleive "the End" is as nigh as the Watchtower Society claims. They've heard the same talks and conventions for many years. But, the hope of Paradise is too enticing for them to leave. Plus, the Friends at the Hall are family, as Dogpatch would say....

I am thinking of getting them a hotel gift card, one to a national chain. That way, they can go on a honeymoon. They likely have all the pots & pans they need.

That is such a beautiful idea. Just beautiful.

Everyone should have at least one son like you.
