    Ephesians 2
    Made Alive in Christ

1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature [ a ] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated uc with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Christ doesn't need us (or the jws for that matter) to enhance his spiritually. What a crock.

So, was Jesus a pioneer? In the true sense of the word, yes. However, this meant that Jesus tried to prepare the way for others to follow. That is what a true pioneer does--and Jesus was trying to prepare the ground work for others to think on their own without having to rely on an organization. Others would take advantage of this, follow the path to a certain point, and then become independent thinkers. At which point, they would start preparing yet more paths for yet others to follow, effectively becoming true pioneers themselves.

The catch is that Jesus was not a pio-sneer. A pio-sneer is one that simply devotes more hours to the same old crap, usually so they can self-righteously boast about it and hound yet others to pio-sneer. They do not blaze new trails, or prepare the way for others. Rather, they stay in the same old ruts as everyone else does. There is no proof, in the Bible or elsewhere, that Jesus did this. Nor is there any proof that Jesus put in a set number of hours trying--or that he reported any of it. All that mattered to Jesus was getting people on the path of self-thinking, whether it took 15 minutes or 360 hours a month to get that job done. Nor did he report any of the time, or commit himself to a certain number of hours a month of field circus of any kind.

Additionally, there is no way pio-sneering is going to enhance one's spirituality. One is already spiritually well-off (at least by the definition of the religion) if one is seeking to do more than the minimum. And, if the work is valid, doing it is only going to build one up even more. This is as true for the ones that are only getting 15 minutes a month or less, and is independent on committing oneself to a certain number of hours. The fact that so many witlesses are dogging their ministry or grudgingly doing it because they are being hounded--indeed, the need for hounders at all--is a sign that the witlesses are not spiritually healthy as a group. The whole work is bogus.

When is the last time Jesus needed a "shepherding call"? When did Jesus need encouragement from the hounder-hounder? Did anyone ever hound Jesus to get out of bed on Saturday morning and place littera-trash? Did Jesus need "help" with starting studies? If the work was valid, it could be completed even without a Bible, let alone without littera-trash. You would see more people in it for 15, 20, 30, or more years that would be getting up at 7:45 AM when the arrangement is 9 AM (I have never seen that). You would be seeing people using the most efficient methods possible to reach the maximum number of people. And you would be seeing forums set up on encouraging each other, tips to do more, and decent discussions about the programs--without having rigid moderation that is so common on pro-JW forums or having once pro-JW forums turning into apostate discussion boards. You would also be seeing apostates landing on the forums, and either looking bad themselves or becoming pro-JW themselves. So far, I have not made those observations.

I think witnesses are truly losing their grip on reality.

I think witnesses are truly losing their grip on reality.

They had such a stranglehold on it when I was in.
