I don't doubt that in quite a few years time the properties in NY State will be rolled over and new ones built somewhere else.

    Now that's an interesting thought.

I wonder if they plan their buildings with the idea that some day they might be more or less easily turned into schools, apartments, hospitals, etc.

It's a shame that God's organization (WT) and Satan's organization (UN) will no longer be headquartered in the same city.

Also, it’s a change for us to build something brand new and eco-friendly from what we’re used to doing, which is accumulate properties and retrofit them.”

I guess it's responsible and all to be eco-friendly but I can't help but think about why they need to worry about long term ecological effects of their operation when they're expecting Armageddon to be imminent...

Oh, that's right...it's a cult. They don't really expect Armageddon, they just need to keep the sheeple busy worrying about it so they won't see through the sham.

Wonder if they will build a "watchtower" on top of the main building like brooklyn heights had?

I know what they would say to the "brother" who planned to move out of a city into a nice rural location and build himself a nice big eco freindly house to secure the future of his wife and family.......

    Materialism Brother, wait on Jehovah...........

I can see them build a little-town atmosphere. It would feel more cozy and cultish. It would be easier to attract the last-stand JW's when there is only a handful left or it could be sold to some investers that want to build a huge outlet mall and need a town nearby for the employees.

Hey, it's probably been mentioned (as I didn't read all the entries) but not only will they make profit from sales, but they will tell the members that they need money to build the new HQ and volunteers to come out for weeks or even months at no pay before they pat them on the back and send them home with the great honor of having met and housed the Governing Body.

    Simple reason - money.

eco-friendly buildings are fundamentally more efficient and therefore cheaper to operate.

example - The average Californian uses 40% less electricity than the average American, primarily due to more stringent efficiency regulations.

Moshe? others? I'm thinking of a good investment . . .might be good to invest in a liquor store in Warwick (walking distance from Watchtower buildings?)!!

Yeah there trying to stay afloat. it's a GOOD sign that there struggling. I honestly don't think the sale will help them as much as they think. Sure they will get ALOT for Brooklyn, BUT they're also on this spending kick. Which I don't see them breaking anytime soon. I think they're goign to squander the money like they always do. It will go quick, after all they have to build a new place, and make it eco friendly like they said. It will be just more money to mismanage. HEHE

This article shows Brooklyn WT property sales since 2004 totaling to $287.6 Million. Since there still is more properties there, I'm wondering if they'll get at least that much more.

What are the tallies of their losses? In France, there was $50M; is that still being fought? Then, can't know the exact amt of the settlement of the pediphiles, but approximately how much could that have been (6-8Million?),,The WT settled a million and a half on the lawsuit by family where the mother was killed in car wreck by wreckless Bethelite. Other lawsuits going on involving losses?

Is there out there a 'guess'timation of the profit and loss sheet going around?
