You're being literal again, Terry. I'm saying the "story" tells me that mankind (not one man...not one woman) reached a certain evolutionary stage.

Only 2?
What about this group:
They believe that there is more to life than just existing, they believe that humans have a potential for great good and great evil, they also believe that whiel we may know how we have changed into what we are, we don't know where we came from or where we are going, but we WANT to find out.
You can fit into Group 2 with those views. They are very common among us Group 2 folk.

The discussion I had HOPE would ensue from the Topic Heading concerns ADAM as a human and EVE as a human.
The Jehovah's Witnesses want to say JESUS was the human equivalent in every way to ADAM as a so-called "perfect" human.
I want to discuss this notion that ADAM was in any meaningful way a "perfect" human when he had:
1.No infancy
2. No childhood
3.No mother
4.No cuddling or friendship
5.No friends
6.No adolesence
7.No nurturing family or society
8.No moral training
9.No EXPERIENCE making decisions
JESUS certainly had all these things.
Moreover, Jesus and Adam as an equation COMPLETELY IGNORES EVE.

The JW's view Adam as "perfect" in the sense that he was created without original sin, perfect untill he sinned.
And since they view Jesus as a created being too, well....there you have it.

This pre-packaged non-think pronouncement from the Watchtower is as cold as their theology.
What makes a person fully HUMAN if not the sum total of their HUMAN experience interacting with the society of humanity which includes
a loving, caring, shaping family?
They make ADAM sound like instant pudding.
Jesus has to equal BOTH Adam AND Eve does he not?
But, EVE is not mentioned in this equivalency.
Jesus was born.
Neither Adam nor Eve were born.
Jesus embodied (according to John's gospel) logos. He was what God was.
In what way was Adam what God was too?

I finally remembered why I started this topic.
I wanted to emphasize that saying Jehovah didn't create Adam to be a Robot
is not saying anything positive since Adam was "created" (I'm just playing devil's advocate here) without
any human advantages as to mental health.
In war ravaged countries there are orphanages where they warehouse babies who aren't held or nurtured personally.
They are kept alive mercifully but not actively and interpersonally.
When these children are finally adopted (If ever) the adoptive parents are usually eventually heartbroken to discover
how cold and impersonal the resulting relationship is.
These children have no empathy and cannot bond with others.
I'm accusing God of doing the same thing to ADAM.
He wakes up fully grown with no childhood, no mother, no family, no friends and no history of being held, sung to, read to, played with, etc.
Why should it surprise anybody that Adam would "want to be like God knowing good and bad"?
Adam's sin, it seems to me, is the action of a deprived and isolated de-humanized individual with no sense of self-worth or belonging.
The psychology of it all stinks.
That was my point.

(Even though my thoughts on Adam and Eve are mentioned above, here is my thought on your thought)
How do you miss something you never knew? Maybe his relationship with God was enough for him in his "youth". The scriptures tell of his close companionship with his father(God)/mother(Garden-Earth) and the love that existed between them. It even talks about their intimate talks during "the breezy part of the day." Adam was nurtured and loved in a way we can't even imagine.

You can't consciously miss what you don't know. I'll grant you that.
The damage to a human who has never been held, cuddled, played with, grown up around like-minded companions (friends, associates, brothers, sisters, etc.) is a deficit to the act of BECOMING a fully functioning human psychologically.
Genesis give us INSTANT HUMAN as though being human is just being an assemblage of atoms.
Adam was clay and then God breathed double-A batteries into him and he Became.
Like opening a box and flicking a switch on a toy Robot.
I read the Genesis account of Adam I seem to be missing these walks and talks with God you are reading into the text. Where are they?
Where does God say to Adam or Eve: "Hey, I love you both very, very much and I don't want anything bad to happen to you."?
Where does God profess his affection?
The only mentions of God and Love I read about in the Old Testament are elusive non specific projections onto Deity a "loving" personality and intention. But, I never read of direct statements between God and humans. Am I the victim of selective amnesia?
Refresh my memory. I don't read the bible anymore. Maybe I'm just crazy. Help!
