I never got baptised and I've never been shunned.
If religion rears it's ugly head it's because they brought it up. If they do, I can usually get them to lie to me in less than two minutes and I can quote the name, date and page number of the article that proves they lied. They seem to be only too happy to change the subject after that.
I do all I can to blow the witlesses off. They only want to drag me back to the boasting sessions and out in field circus, so I have nothing to offer them. And I would rather be rude than to imply that I am going back, which they will take anything I do as meaning such.

Again, thank you all for your comments. I'll continue to read up as much as possible here and eventually get the suggested books to read that will help me be more informed and confident in where I stand should another encounter like this occur again.
