i remember once asking a poineer of my aquintence "if it was you on the doorstep would your presentation make you want to listen further?" she honestly repiled "no"

and i think that most of the JW's i ever worked on the FS with, none of them had good or interesting presentations. Even less so in the final years, i could see that everyone was so tired out and were just doing it to get their hours in.

Are Jw's good sales people? And if not then why does the GB make them go door to door? I mean it was a rare and wonderful thing for some body to take the magazines when i went out on the FS. And i'm very sure that most of the magazines went straight in the bin the moment the door was closed!

They're horrible salespeople because they aren't genuine. They have to follow the groupthink presentations provided by the borg. You might notice that there are a few really good conversationalists in the congregation who can manage to spend a half hour or more at just about any door whether the people are interested or not, but they're rare.

jws are not good salespeople because they feel they will get everlasting life whether they "convert" anyone or not. Why try very hard?

If they were good sales people then surely there'd be more than 6 million of them world wide.

J dubs are trained to be good sales people... and some of them are freakin great at it.... But they are the same people that are great sales men in there real jobs too. Some people are GREAT at sales and others are not. The people who are great sales men are the ones that end up working there way up the ladder in the organization.... Then there are the rest... where i was... I was a pioneer for years, as well as my husband was... I HATEDED FS! It was the worst! I didn't like the idea of selling my religion to others. Every door I went to I would hope they would reject me. because then i wouldn't have to come back. I work in a field now that they push selling retail and I still hate selling. But there are others that I work with that are awesome at it. my point is i think its all in the person you are inside if you are a good sales men or not.

Some are very good sales people. A pioneer in my first congregation has assisted more than 100 people to baptism.

    The horror.

As we all know FS has become more a vehicle for congregational status than conversion or even the seeking of 'honesthearted ones'.

In order for D2D to be successful one must have a worthy product and a seller who believes.

An example of this is my recent FS & D2D experiences last week (Tues/Thurs) in the same neighborhod--- one failed and one was wildly successful!

FS gained very few people home and no takers who were remotely interested beyond politeness at the door (if that). D2D Girl Scout cookie sales on the other hand saw 1132 boxes sold and only 4 no-sales in roughly the same amount of time.

When I was attending a congregation who had a strong social support structure and I liked the direction of the GB I was a very very good sales-gal (but not the 'closer').

The only thing most JW`s want when they knock on a door,is for nobody to be home..

If someone is home, they want to leave as quickly as possible..

Going from door to door, in order to talk to no one..

Is not the sign of a good sales person..

    ........................ ...OUTLAW

    In general, no.

Imagine a salesman requiring 4000+ hours of effort to make one sale. JWs spend about that much time in "field service" for each new baptism.

That said, there are individuals who are quite adept at selling anything, including cult membership.

A golden ticket into the 'new world'.
