Imagine a salesman requiring 4000+ hours of effort to make one sale.
That's two years of full time work to get one sale. If you were doing that with cars you would have starved to death by now. Or even houses for that matter.

The best "salespeople" in JW land are the ones who come across sincere and show a personal interest in people.
I know a couple who have brought many people in - they are really kind people and I believe are genuinely interested in the other person. Thus, the attraction.
Most Witnesses couldnt sell a heater in the Arctic Circle since they stammer through their canned presentations so horribly.
The only thing most JW`s want when they knock on a door,is for nobody to be home..
LOL Outlaw - that is the TRUTH!
I used to pray for someone NOT to answer the door........
Of course, then you could count a "sale" by leaving a couple of magazines in the door!
The last time I heard a JW sales pitch was at memorial last year. The elder was taking about some planned talk about how the bible is something or another.
The inital words caught my attention however in 5 seconds he blew it when he said this was a free talk and all are welcome.
Then he just sounded like car salesman or those timeshare guys.
When I hear the word free used in that way, I instantly wonder what the catch is!
My Dad, who is an MS, has never brought anyone into the cult . He's been baptized for almost 24 years. Good job he wasn't earning a salary doing this!
For me, personally, I absolutely love his 'results'.
