  Just think---what if nothing at all had happened in 1914. What if it came and went like 1975 did....quietly......

  What other piece of crap idea would have come along??

  Besides, Invisible Jesus will have been ruling 100 years without doing a damned thing by 2014. That is only 4 years away!

  I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Watchtower Society will start hinting that the 100th (embarassing) anniversary of Jesus setting up his invisible rulership will mark the new ARMAGEDDON non-event.

  It just boggles the mind, doesn't it? My best guess is that Rutherford would have run the organization into the ground or maybe it would have self-destructed even before Russell passed away. Regardless, I imagine they would have been gone by now or more like the remaining Bible Students organization that follows what Russell said- virtually unknown, not even rating jokes on late night television.

  So, I am a faded JW because WWI started in 1914.

  It's kinda like B. Obama is the president of the United States because Jeri Ryan is hot. (That fact caused Jeri's then-husband Jack to try to have sex with her in front of others at some sex club. This was revealed when Jack ran against Obama for senator, causing Jack to pull out of the race, Obama won by a landslide against another. If Obama did not win by such a huge margin, he would not have attempted to run for president yet.)

  My money's on 2034 as the next big date prediction:

  1) 1914+120 (Just as the days of Noah, so will the presence of the son of man be)

  2) 1914+60+60 (Two overlapping "contemporary" generations)

  3) 33CE+2001 (Jesus Resurrection on the 3rd day (a day with God the same as a thousand years))

  Your not on the gb are you? That would be just the kind of convoluded reasoning they use....it would give me a headace, but you can do it. Write a story about how the gb would pull that out of their arse...

  The Jehovah's Witnesses think of themselves always in the limelight and don't realize that without their date-setting they are practically an anonymous cult in the mind of the public.

  Is it my imagination or is it a fact that JW's today are really dense intellectually and super-self-righteous. More than ever before they seem like Fundamentalist evangelicals the way they think and talk. At least judging by their message boards. Makes me want to throw up.

  The fulfillment of divine prophecy indicates that the last way is the one by which the "great tribulation" is cut short. According to the Bible, A.D. 1914 is a fixed date. It was fixed for the ending of the "appointed times of the nations" and for the birth of God's Messianic kingdom in the heavens. (Luke 21:24; Rev. 12:1-5) The birth of the Kingdom in the heavens meant the start of the war in heaven against the Devil and his unholy angels up there. By this war in heaven against the Devil's invisible organization the "great tribulation" began. Of course, it had its effects upon the visible part of Satan's organization here on earth. The war resulted in ousting the Devil and his demons from heaven and confining their area of activity to this earth. Their keeping active about the earth was not prevented, for the Devil and his demons were not abyssed on being confined to this earth. (Rev. 12:6-17) Thus for the time being the great tribulation upon Satan's organization was interrupted or discontinued. Evidently that occurred by A.D. 1918.
