I was told to have a "conversation" with the elders there and they asked me 35.000 questions about something I had done.Anyone ever had similar experience or something funny/weird happened?

I bought my mother a birthday cake. My daughter told the elders, and I had to talk to the elders. Managed to smooth talk my way out of it.

I never had the 'back room' experience. I think it was due to the fact that we never went to meetings at the KH. The Sunday meeting was a 'Bible Book Study' in our home or at the home of the JWs conducting the study (I know... I know... I'm somewhat ancient). I only remember attending 1 Memorial as a kid. My Dad wasn't a JW back then. I now believe we didn't go to the Hall because there was a pedophile in the congregation and my Dad really wasn't interested in the JWs when I was growing up.
edited to add: Welcome to JWN, XPeterX!

I got dinged for that as well. I used the "fractions" defense. I bought the cake and candles separately, and had the bakery write "Happy Day" on the cake. I was able to use Biblical verses from Job to prove that a person's "Day" does not ever mean their Birthday.
I got "Well, OK. As long as it was not a Birthday Cake" for an answer.
