Beks, I suppose your father thought that you were being persecuted or something. Even after we left the Witnesses I went to bat with the school at least once when one of my kids didn't want to recite the pledge.

Ohh hell, you've never seen my mother righteously indignant! She gave that teacher what for! But the damage was done, I was the shyest most backward 5 year old you could ever wanna meet. All I wanted to do was blend in to the background. No such luck.
