The NooLite concept prevents them from EVER having to apologize. NooLite implies that it's Jehovah's fault when THEY do something wrong.
In order for there to be NooLite, there has to be Old Lite. Since they cannot publish human wisdom, the Old Lite came from Jehovah.
So, it's not WT that is wrong, it's Jehovah.
Cults shoot their wounded. They don't apologize.
SNAP is not just for Catholics, they have branches for other groups who work through their organization. On the first page of their website they list other religious groups that have SNAP groups.
Why not try starting a group in your area through SNAP or how to attract jws and ex-jws to this SNAP group.
Don't imagine that Catholics have remained Catholics in SNAP and have not been shunned or ousted by the RC....I have met many of them at their National Conventions. One is coming up in Chicago this year, July 30 and August 1.

I'll add one more thing; child sexual abuse is not a jw problem, not a catholic problem, not a protestant problem, not a jewish problem, it is unfortunately equal opportunity.
SNAP also combats the secular laws that continue to allow children to be hurt. So even if you are an atheist, your efforts through SNAP will benenfit children everywhere.
Blondie you are right on in everything you have said. Not one member of my SNAP group is still in the RC. Many have been shunned just like the Witnesses do. In fact one of my SNAP members was in the store and a person from his church came in saw him and tried shun him but he blocked her with his shopping cart and made her listen to him about the child abuse in the RC. It was so cool to listen to him tell his story. One woman in my group has not had any abuse happen in her family but like she said how can I go to a church that allows this to happen and she is one of our biggest supporters. It takes all our voices to say NO.
Yes I would love to start a chapter here in my city with other JW"s but no one wants to get df'ed.
Who knows what the future will bring though.

SSPO- Yes, exactly. Actually the GB and leaders of the WT society BELIEVE THEY are God Jehovah , or whatever He's called - so they don't recognize the need to apologize or be humble.
AGONUS- Good point you make which I agree with. At least the catholic Cardinal apologized ( whether sincere or not ) - that's the point. It showed he was aware of his negligence and admitted it. The WT society REFUSES to admit ANY negligence or wrongdoing - which in my opinion makes them even MORE reprehensible.
OUTLAW- Exactly. The WT society WILL NOT admit error when it comes to this subject. They NEED to appear infallible to control the mass of witnesses. I'm sure more than one elder has ran around with his pants around his ankles acting perverted !
CAMEO-D- The point of the thread is NOT whether Brady was sincere or not in his apology - it is clear he has his position and own rear end he wants to save. The point of the thread is that he PUBLICLY in front of the media, fellow Catholics, and the Pope apologized. Something the WT society would not even DREAM of doing ! Whether he is sincere or not was not the point I was making. The point is drawing attention to the contrast of PUBLIC exposure of the Catholics errors as opposed to Jehovah's Witnesses PREVENTING their errors from becoming public .
BLONDIE- I don't think Brady's apology was sincere. That's not the point I'm making here. I'm making the point that whether he was sincere or not - the main issue is Catholics in power positions HAVE come out admitting fault publicly on child abuse. Have you heard of any GB members of the WT society admit fault publicly ? Any WT leaders apologizing to the flock publicly ? Nope . Don't think so. It won't happen. And why ? Because the WT society arrogantly thinks it's above reproach ! The leaders think they are God himself - so why should they admit errors ? They are NEVER wrong ! It's all the PARENTS who were wrong who allowed their kids to get molested. Or if the WT doesn't blame the parents- they blame the children for tempting elders ! It's rigodamneddiculous ! Then the WT society plays the ULTIMATE copout to not take responsibility- they blame Satan ! It wasn't Satan abusing kids - it was perverted sick elders and men in power .
MAD SWEENEY- You make another good point ! We would NEVER hear of the WT society asking for an elder or GB member to be removed if they failed to report child abuse to the authorities. Good point. There is not a high level of standards which elders have to answer to on behalf of children at all. There are lots of rules- but usually the rules favor the elders !
LIFE IS TOO SHORT- I'm glad you have found support in SNAP and the board here. My wife and I are proud of what you constantly are accomplishing in informing witnesses and the public about faulty JW policies towards child abuse. Keep the great work up ! And you make a great point- I doubt very seriously Jaracz or Splane, certainly not J.R. Brown9 we saw his official child abuse response ) - NONE of these JW leaders would ever admit fault publicly like the Catholics- and THAT is the point of the thread.

Mr. Flipper, I think the WTS would apologize if they could keep their legal responsibility out of it but not out of any sincerity. Their legal staff has obviously advised them against doing so. The RC is only doing it because their legal staff think it is better at this point in a PR way to those outside the RC to say something. The WTS has kept a lid on the publicity of their cases which the RC has no longer been able to do. Should that change, the WTS may have to make some kind of insincere apology to keep the non-jws satisfied.
It would be beneficial to understand the thinking of religious organizations (and secular ones like the Boy Scouts) who have tried (and successfully for some time) to keep these things secret. Things with the RC did not start leaking out until 2002, when brave Catholics fought the RC, losing much financially and in their religious community.
The RC did and still does believe itself to be above reproach, please read the experiences on this website. Don't read the PR crap in the media from the Catholic Church. Read the 18 years of battle that SNAP has engaged in (and with successes that we can build on) and what the RC is still doing behind the scenes. They blame everyone but themselves; even Brady is not taking responsibility. What religious leader truly has in the RC? I know the people on the website, I have heard their experiences from the stage and face to face. It mirrors everything you have said. These people may get a small remuneration, but that does not bring back the family members who killed themselves, they are not accepted back into their religious community and are blamed for any financial or spiritual problems in their church.
Did I mention Mr. Flipper that I was abused by my pedophile father, all his kids, and had to take the elder body by the balls to get any help at all. I am not coming from this from a theoretical stance...I have lived it...I know these people in SNAP....I have heard their stories; except for a little adjustment for vocabulary, they could be talking about the WTS.
No, the WTS would not apologize. They see no reason to because they are not responsible. They have their own methods for dealing with this and see nothing wrong with them. They are so far removed from any sense of reality on this issue, that it's obvious they have no idea what's really going on.
