My oldest g'son has reading problems, so once had to go to summer school.
His teacher was a volunteer from Wisconsin.
That woman was one of the best teachers I've ever witnessed!
She had him choose a book that he liked, read it to her, then explain it to her. Each day she sent home a note that detailed his progress. That boy would get up every morning just rarin' to go to school!
I think those kids learned more in six weeks than they did the entire school term!
They did so well that she celebrated by taking the whole group for pizza.
I wish all teachers could be like her.
