I've started a couple of threads on what I experienced last night but one other thing that stood out was in the talk.

The speaker made mention that God had given us the freedom to choose whether or not to serve him but before he could catch his breath for the next sentance he declared that to survive the destruction of the wicked we had to align ourselves with the true worshippers of Jehovah. Gee...thanks for that 'freedom' to choose death by electricution or by suffocation, pal.

It was a surreal statement, but all the braindead dubbies sat zombiefied through it without flinching...

I snuck in a back room with the family and tried to leave immediately. Long talk by a Brooklyn man, not great, but better than the locals. It was not packed as the last memorial I attended 6 years ago.

1st one we did not attend in 25 years. Did not feel one bit guilty or awkward, enjoyed the evening at home - "V", Anderson Cooper and off to bed... as I laid there the full moon looked so much different this year....happier.

I went and for my mother........and even.......GASP......put my arm around her......thats a sin now, right?

The speaker mentioned 10,000 partakers last year and I started giggling. My row looked at me.....they were all clueless.

I whispered to my sister "I guess there were a few 96 year olds that came back from heaven to partake again."

99 percent of those in attendance just stared straight ahead......like the fact that partakers is GROWING is no big deal.

They will do the same during April 15ths "Generations" discussion

I basically sat there thinking "I used to give this talk"........its was surreal.

It was a long night. Very somber. The hubby decided to go. Later he got texts from his sisters saying "mom will be so proud". "i just want you to know that I love you...." Really?! I couldn't tell since it's the first time I saw her text or say that to her brother in 4 years! Conditional love....gotta love it. She also believes that Jehova is changing hearts.....she must be speaking of her own.

One said they attendance was 142 the other said 630. The 1st if from a very small town. The other lives in a bigger city. 630, really? The hubby carried on non-chalantly, then I went to the kitchen and saw them.....the memorial thing and a watchtower. It's very different from the others I've seen in the past.

The next day I was at a doctors office and saw two craptowers. I threw them away....

Me: stopped attending almost 30 years ago. Never baptized, born into this.

Took elderly mom and walked into a setup. They were ready for me. I'm an agnostic, and listening to that talk, which was delivered by a guy who had the voice of a man whose testicles were being compressed in a vice, was difficult to do without laughing. There were no hot ladies in the hall this time; just a collection of geezers and a kid in front of me who was entertaining; she had her fingers in her ears, intentionally blocking out the talk, for the entire night. I felt like doing the same!

After, I got accosted by several of them, and one of them said, "you really need to come back. Armageddon will soon be here but there's still time for you. What a great son you are!" I told them that I would be back, next year at the same time for the purpose of escorting my mom to her annual memorial.

A great son will make great buzzard chow post-armagegeddon. Oh well, at least my life will have had a purpose!

The biggest thing that irked me was the usual push to go to meetings. I said to my wife, "Here we go..."

The brother read Hebrews and then announced we have 2 weekly meetings and we should attend weekly because Paul told us to, it's right there in the scripture we just read.

    Paul said no such thing.

    PRICELESS!

This was the 36th Memorial-of-the-Death-of-Jesus-Christ-Where-Nobody-Ever-Celebrates-a-Damn-Thing that I've not attended.

    When was it, again?

i was begged to go by a relative visiting from out of town...so i told her to call the local kh

to find out the time of the memorial... well after calling several times no one answered the phone.

which i was quite pissed about. how is it the biggest night of the year for JW's and yet

you have no one answering the phones. what about the public seeking to attend? you know the ones

that they preach to constantly? so we called another cong. same thing no one answering the phone.
