I was raised in the organization. I stopped going 6 months ago and dissassociated myself "officially" last week.

Was born into this, from birth to age 25. Stayed in it until 1991. Heard there was a big scandal in the cong. after I left: several affairs going on, drugs, beer parties. Sheesh. Much happier chanting Sanskrit mantras.

Stop going on a regular basis wow...2007 ?? Last District Convention 2001. I'd tell my mom I sat somewhere in the Astrodome and she believed it. I go every now and then to appease her. This past memorial was my first since 2005

Oh...and I certainly don't miss working ALL day and then busting ass home to run to a meeting. That rat race sucked bigtime now that I look back. BUT.... I was trying SO HARD to be a good brother and eventual MS.

Baptized '76, made carefully planned exit in '03. Was an active dub for 28 years.
My wife would like to turn in her time, too: Baptized '74, left when I did, dub for almost 30 years.

Interesting stats. Something I take away from these statistics is many of you left the JW cult between 10 - 30 years after having been in. Most people don't exit the cult if they have 40 or more years invested. And newbie witnesses with only 1 - 5 years in the cult are still in the honeymoon phase so stay in the cult. It seems that once a person has been in it quite awhile - the injustices crop up and they see through the false doctrines and expectations.
Also - I truly believe that once we entered into the 21st century - many people started disbelieving the " generation " theory and said " To hell with this crap , I'm going to go live my life - not waste it. " Just my 2 cents. As always - I welcome your comments

Interesting stats, flipper. It appears the shelf life of a dub is about 10 years; after that, thinking sets in.
Also, I note 1 person left in 1973 but 11 bailed out in 2009. Does that fulfill the "little one has become a thousand" scripture? I guess it does if we say so.

I left as soon as I safely could- 1988 at the age of 20. I was virtually 'born in' to the Borg.What a horrible thing to happen to a child! I thought either there was no god; or if there was one he didn't like me, so I had nothing to lose by 'fading'. Never baptized, thank god. Or whoever you are...
