I never was on a committee where those sorts of questions were asked. Not even close. So to pull an elder on you, I'll have to say that you don't know anything but heresay. That said, you don't know that any of those things were said or done.

I would say that I do believe that 2 things could be done.

1. All appointed people (men or women) should have to have criminal background checks done on them before having any position of responsibility.

2. A video recording should be made and a copy be filed and also one given to the willing participant.

Of course that would totally stop this sort of thing in its tracks.

If you are a victim of any kind of sexual abuse, the elders must hear every tiny detail. Even if they refuse to do anything because there was not two witnesses, they still want every tiny detail.

So that means that if a young girl gets raped.

She must sit before the elders, alone, three against one, while they ask all these questions.

It is a rape in inself.

As a young teen, I was in a situation similar to your friends. I was asked these sort of quesitons and answered them. I felt really lucky at the time though, my father who was an elder sat in the room with me. He had asked me these same horrible questions before the meeting, but sat quietly while I answered them in front of the other brothers. It was horrible. But I lived through it. Later my dad told me that he was proud of me for keeping it together during that meeting.

I am sure there are alot of others here who were asked those type of questions.

The counsel that I remember hearing repeatedly at Elders Schools was not to go into salacious details.....But I am not saying that it never happens..

The Elders Textbook "Pay Attention To Yourselves & The Flock" says , Unit 5b

" Probing questions should not go into needless details,

especially in regard to sexual misconduct, unless this is

absolutely necessary, such as in determining whether

Elders need to treat the accused kindly and respectfully,

Blues brother is right. Yet, I encountered so many elders who did this very thing. According to procedure, elders only need to establish porneia. Whether a person orgasmed or not has never been a criteria, although elders continue to justify the importance of that question. My take? They are pervs.....

I can't, for life of me as a parent understand why ANYBODY would allow a their teenager be submitted to this kind of questioning, let alone themselves. It is like some sort of mental-sexual abuse, like someone said "mental rape".

I pissed off my fellow elders on two occasions that I can remember by asking the poor person on trial:

"I know this is horribly difficult and embarrasing, but if you can just let us know if the two of you finally ended up having sexual intercourse we don't have to make you re-live every detail leading up to it."

Once she left the room so that we could pray for Divine Revelation as to her heart condition , whichever elder was pushing for all the details would get in my face saying that it's our duty to try and determine "Godly Repentance" (tm) and that those details could help us in our decision.

Yeah, well, not for me. As screwed up as the whole JC process is, just go by the empirical evidence and "err on the side of mercy" even though Elder's School says not to. If a person was there for the 1st or 2nd JC for porneia, unless they were flipping us the bird and asking to be DFed, they were repentant in my book. I remember one person who just wanted out of a JW marriage and they basically had to go for 3 strikes before we kicked them out.

So glad I'm out of that horrific Boy's Club.
