    "She Sells Sanctuary"

Same here, I used to love the cult as a kid and always felt guilty about it as a JW.

Now I love them again for their name, and for the same reason I also like the Cult clothing label. I make sure I wear some cult labelled clothing when I am going to be around JW's.

I also like Love Removal Machine now that I can play it on Guitar hero.

Yeah I still have to go with "She Sells Sanctuary".

I was groping for a "new sound" in January 1988 because I was so sick of Top 40 pop and hair metal. I flipped my radio dial to a "modern rock" station and discovered alternative. And "She Sells Sanctuary" was one of the first songs that really turned me on to alternative. Plus "Under the Milky Way" by The Church. Plus "Only a Memory", "Blood and Roses", "A Girl Like You" by the Smithereens. Plus "Where Is My Mind" by the Pixies. Plus "Anything, Anything" by Dramarama. And of course "Fire Woman" by the Cult. And so many others.

I miss late '80s alternative rock.

One of my all-time favorite bands!

Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy are AWESOME!

I saw them at a small venue a couple of years ago and they kicked major butt.

    1) Spiritwalker (live at the marquee version is especially awesome)

    2) Wildflower (alltime great riff)

    3) Brother Wolf / Sister Moon (classic from the Love album)

    4) Rise

    5) She Sells Sanctuary (check out the butch vig remix if you can)

(Sorry, I cant get to youtube from work or Id post links!)
